The Real Estate and Business Agents Supervisory Board (the Board) would like to thank those of you who have embraced the first year of the Compulsory Professional Development (CPD) program being extended to real estate representatives and property managers.
Since its introduction in January 2009 the Board has been mostly pleased with compliance and the positive feedback it has received from the industry.
However, it wishes to convey its concern for those who are yet to complete their 10 points for 2009, as time is running out.
The Board has received feedback from some sales representatives who are under the impression that being the first year of CPD’s introduction the Board will be flexible on compliance, and it strongly advises that this is not the case.
The Board takes non-compliance with the CPD requirements very seriously. Any instances of non-compliance are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and the Board reserves the right to place conditions on or refuse renewal of a certificate for instances of non-compliance.
The Board also wishes to reiterate that CPD courses being full at the end of the year will not be accepted as a valid reason for non-compliance.

If you have obtained your registration as a sales representative or property manager this calendar year, please note that you are not required to start attaining CPD points until 2010.
